A Shadow Across the Stars
When the star freighter Chromarty suffers a violent mutiny, two of its crew, Anders and Mendez, are abandoned on a distant planet. Cut off from their ship and with no prospect of rescue, they are forced to survive in an environment they barely understand.
Four hundred years later, a scout ship arrives at the planet.
What begins as an investigation into a long-forgotten incident soon raises more questions than answers. The explorers discover traces of a past that has somehow survived the centuries, and gradually find themselves drawn into a story whose origins lie aboard the Chromarty.
But the further they investigate, the less certain the boundary becomes between what happened, what was recorded, and what may still be happening.
The fate of Anders and Mendez is only the beginning of the mystery.
A Shadow Across the Stars is a science-fiction mystery spanning four centuries, exploring survival, identity, memory and the unsettling possibility that the universe may contain forms of existence that humanity has yet to understand.
