For years, the residents of Blackwood Apartments have disappeared.

At first, no one notices. A tenant moves away without saying goodbye. A neighbor stops answering their door. An apartment is suddenly empty, yet everything inside remains exactly where it was. Then Megan Carter begins hearing footsteps outside her door every night at 2:13 a.m.

As the years pass, Megan becomes determined to uncover what is happening inside the aging apartment complex. Along the way, she grows close to Daniel Reyes, a paramedic whose own mother disappeared from Blackwood years earlier. Together, they begin uncovering secrets buried beneath the building-secrets that go back decades.

A demon the size of a mountain rises from the Earth, its colossal body covered in thousands of tiny, unblinking eyes.

As the creature awakens, humanity discovers that weapons cannot stop it. Cities vanish. Governments fall. The oceans begin to disappear. Year by year, the world is consumed until civilization itself becomes nothing more than a memory.
