A Tiny Window into a Big Story
Have you ever opened a book and been stopped in your tracks by the very first page? I’m talking about epigraphs—those short quotes authors place at the beginning to set the mood.
I love them because they’re like a secret handshake between the author and the reader. They don't tell you the plot, but they tell you exactly how the story is going to feel.
Take this one from "Terribly in Love":
"For everyone who’s loved someone they should have feared."
Chills, right? In just ten words, you know you’re in for a story about obsession, danger, and the kind of love that’s as terrifying as it is beautiful. It sets the stakes before you’ve even met the characters.
What’s your favorite epigraph? Let me know in the comments! 📚✨
