The “restore us to sanity” part of Step 2 made sense to me pretty quickly.
The harder part was the idea of a Power greater than ourselves.
I did not suddenly understand God.
I did not suddenly become certain.
I just became willing to believe that maybe my own thinking did not have to be the highest power in the room.
That small opening was enough to give me hope.
